About Pamela

Pamela grew up in the UK and fell in love with Australia on a year’s working holiday at 23. Since then she has called the NSW Northern Rivers home.

In the year 2000 she attended the first Summersong Music Camp and that week nestled between the ocean and the lake at Lennox Head changed the course of her life. She discovered her love of singing with Tony Backhouse, wrote her first song under the tutelage of Kristina Olsen and felt she had finally met her tribe.

In the intervening 25 years she developed a serious music camp addiction! Attending almost every Summersong camp, and teaching at various other music flavoured retreats here and overseas, collaborating with incredibly gifted musicians and teachers, too many to list, but notably Jane Cornes and Richard Lawton.

Pamela completed a BA in Media (it should have been music!) sung in countless choirs, hosted radio shows, been in several bands, most recently The Loveys, a glam cabaret band with whom she has toured and played at festivals including Woodfood, Adelaide Fringe and Nannup WA. She now teaches and runs workshops in songwriting, singing and guitar from her home studio. Her love of music and song continues to grow, she is grateful to be part of a wonderful community of musicians and loves to support creativity and self expression in those just starting on their musical journey.

All this has led to creating Songweaver, a creative camp for women. A safe and supportive space where women can connect with and amplify their voice, a place to share stories and songs. A place women can be witnessed in all their power and also their vulnerability, whether they are seasoned musicians or just finding their voice.
