About Kate

Kate James is a Melbourne-based coach, mindfulness teacher, and author with over 24 years’ experience supporting women to discover self-acceptance, create meaningful change, and live with purpose.

Through her coaching, courses, and books, Kate works with women who seem to be managing well on the outside but who often struggle with self-doubt, overthinking, and feeling good enough. She helps women build clarity, calm and confidence, and pursue careers and lives that feel meaningful.

Kate draws on the philosophies of mindfulness, self-compassion, positive psychology, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and Internal Family Systems, creating spaces that are both supportive and compassionate.

She is the author of several bestselling personal development books, including Believe in Yourself and Do What You LoveChange Your Thinking to Change Your Life, and Quietly Confident, blending research, lived experience, and reflective storytelling.

At this Byron Bay retreat, often attended by introverted women, Kate provides space for stillness and reflection while guiding gentle yet transformative practices designed to quiet the inner critic, clarify what truly matters, and cultivate a grounded sense of self. Previous guests leave feeling nurtured, cared for, and renewed, as though they’ve experienced a life reset.

Enjoy beautiful vegetarian meals, daily meditation, movement including walking, yoga, and Pilates, and time in the beautiful natural environment.
